Get a good employee: When a company offers a traineeship to a foreign student, it is in fact getting a valuable employee for a few months. The employer lays down the requirements and qualifications the trainee must have, and IAESTE will nominate a suitable student for the job offer. The curriculum vitae of the nominated student is forwarded to the employer for consideration and approval. Should the employer feel that the nominated student does not match the original requirements, another student can be nominated. This ensures that all trainees are competent for the job required. Get work done: Many companies who employ IAESTE trainees reserve special projects for them. This may include working on a new service, improving and optimising machines in production lines and writing new software. In this way both the company and the trainee get maximum benefit from the traineeship. IAESTE takes care of all formalities: All applications for work permits and visas are handled by IAESTE. We also arrange for accommodation and transport to and from the airport on arrival, together with social activities for free time. Students on IAESTE traineeships in Malta for a period of less than 6 months are exempt from taxes and National Insurance. In this way employing companies can focus on the training aspect of the scheme. Enable a Maltese student to get experience abroad: For every job offered by a Maltese company, a Maltese student gets the opportunity to go on a traineeship abroad. This is a unique experience as it allows the student to work in a foreign country and gain practical experience in his field of study, while also experiencing a different culture and way of life. In recent years Maltese students had the opportunity of working in the following countries:
